I personally think that God doesn't punish the ignorant, and in fact, I think that God gives commandments to avoid problems, not so he can punish you. Look at ''Thou Shalt Not Kill'' for instance, I mean, it's a given that killing people makes other people unhappy with you. I don't think it's that god is punishing you for doing it, but that you're feeling the natural consequences of breaking the commandment.Same thing with adultery. So many family problems avoided when you keep that one.Does God punish the Ignorant?
So it is said that God punishes those who don't keep his commandments. What if you're ignorant of those commandments, are you still punished?

Seems like the best choice. The inept are second...

That's what I thought you meant. You're apparently angry with her, that's a consequence of what she did. The family problem would have been avoided if she hadn't.
i think you got it mixed up buddy, THE IGNORANT BELIEVE IN GOD. god dosn't punish his worshipers
Really. So all the Atheist are some genius that are very smart and not ignorant. :O
Amazing. You know that is a nice opinion. Keep telling that yourself.

Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't.Religious wrintings are vauge.
The God of the New Testament does not punish the ignorant.
''Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.'' -James 4:17
No, sin is an intention not an act. Now if you're willfully ignorant that's a completely different story.

Well quoted. So when does a person ''know to do good''?

we do not need religion for comfort or answers to any sort of questions about life just because science has not answered them yet. we dont need to be told how life came to be, or what will happen when we die. interpet that anyway you want.. but it seems we are a bit more secure with not knowing than religious people are. whats the point of life if their is no mystery left.
fooling yourself into believing what is told to you is called being a sheep. if something cannot be proven, then i will not believe it. i might think its a plausable theory or arguement.. but i will not live my life by it. thanks for argueing with me, guy with the emo death knote avatar.. good day sir.

It was inevietable actually. Kind of premeditated if you will....and it happened more than once. So tell me where that could have been ******* avoided :evil: cause I will dispute it :x

All right man, here we go. Ok, so I'm a christian. I believe in God, and you don't. Say God turns out not to be real after all, and I was wrong. Nothing happens. But, on the other hand, if you are wrong, and there is a God, you go to Hell. Isn't it better to believe and have that assurance? Argue with that logic.
The commandments are highly flawed.. Not to mention are never followed to the T.. No culture has ever abstained for killing people.. They just call it something else.. Furthermore notice that Child Abuse, rape, or slavery for that matter are not in the commandments.. Also notice that the adultry commandment specifically treats the woman as a property of the men, and not a human being.

Do unto others as you would have others do to you. that covers child abuse. Rape I'm not sure about, we just know not to do that. And the whole women's right thing didn't happen until 1900 years after the 10 commandments were written.

So what you are suggesting is god is a sexist? Also ''do unto others as you would have other do to you'' is NOT a commandment.. Child abuse, rape, and slavery are still omitted amongst these.
