Suicide Thread

Nah, not what you were thinking. This is a question concerning ethics. Picture yourself stranded on an deserted island, you know for pretty much a fact that you won't be getting off because you have just been bitten by an extremely poisonous insect (with no known antidote). Within less than an hour you will feel the most immense pain and not too soon after, death will come, meaning you will suffer for hours before you finally die. You have no contact to the outside and no one knows where you are. However you do a have a handgun. Would you rather suffer until you are dead or would you take the easy way out? Suicide Thread

Shoot myself. And if you are allready dying what is cowardly about ending the pain. Its not like killing yourself because you got rejected or just were depressed. Your dying in an hour from excruciating pain,suicide is the sane option in that scenario.

If you are certain that you will suffer immense pain before death and there's no means of preventing it other then a shot to the head, how is that a cowards way out?

You're basically doomed, why suffer more then needed?
Shoot myself in the foot. That way, I'd forget the pain of the poison and concentrate on the gun-wound.
